Casey Banville is currently a working artist who recently graduated with a BA in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre from Dean College.

Her love for theatre began when she was growing up in Ludlow, Massachusetts. At ten years old, she was cast as a part of the ensemble in her first show with the Exit 7 Youth Players, and she has not stopped since.  Throughout middle school and high school, Casey was able to pursue her craft and be cast in many shows including The Wizard of Oz, The Boyfriend, and Grease.  She took classes in musical theatre, acting, and dance, and she sang in the Massachusetts Western Junior District Choir, Senior District Choir, and All State Choir.  At her high school graduation, she received the Greggory Wrinn Award for excellence in choral studies, music history, and music theory.

At college, she also received many opportunities to perform and hone her craft. Her roles include Margot and Elle’s understudy in Legally Blonde, Olivia in Twelfth Night, and Heidi in the online production of The Heidi Chronicles.  She also took classes not only in the studies of acting, music, dance, theatre history, technical theatre, and script analysis.  When she studied abroad at Regent’s University in London, Casey fell in love with directing.  Through her classes she was able to attend many shows, analyze them, and create several projects where she acted as a director by choosing a play and creating ideas on staging and all aspects of technical design.  Casey made her directorial debut through the “Werk Your Craft” program at Dean College by directing a virtual production of August: Osage County.  For her senior project, she wrote, directed, and edited a devised theatre piece centering around gender inequality and social issues titled Nevertheless, She Persisted.

Throughout her college career, she realized that she not only wanted to perform and direct; she had a passion for arts education as well.  She took a class called Creative Movement for Children where she was able to create exercises and teach creative dance to children from the Early Childhood Education Center at Dean College.  That class led her to an internship at the Boston Ballet where she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for their Ballet Exploration and Ballet Journeys program.   She has also worked as a Music/Vocal Assistant at the Hanover Theatre for their children and preteen's summer program and developed the Musical Theatre program at Dick Barker School of Dance.

Casey is currently a teaching fellow at Gann Academy, a dance teacher at Millis Dance Theatre, and a musical theatre teacher at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts.  In the future, she plans to attend graduate school and start her own theatre company.
